Members of the Friends Group are currently planning for September’s anniversary celebration as well as the 100th year birthday celebration of our school which will take place in 2028.
Madison High has planned an extensive Volunteer Day on Friday, April 17, 2026. Oshen Wallin will be bringing a group of students to the MHARS to work on some projects.
On Friday, April 3, 2026, 2nd graders from Mars Hill Elementary School spent the day learning about the school. Four classes with about 20 students each visited.
Students from Madison High School’s Early College program visited the school on Friday, March 27, 2026.
In mid March, a tornado landed on Long Ridge. The winds broke two electrical poles just past the Mars Hill Anderson Rosenwald School. The tornado, which crossed I-26, lasted just one minute, and had 75 mph wind speeds. Thankfully there was no damage to the school.
In February, the Mars Hill Town Board held their meeting at the school. It was an honor to host them during Black History Month. The board members were invited to assist in planning the schools 100th year birthday celebration.
In February, in honor of Black History month, Willa Wyatt presented “Our Story, This Place” to the residents of Crowfield Condominiums.
Discussions are under way to establish a Long Ridge Historical Trail.
