Wondering why the title of the National Rosenwald Schools Conference is Sharing the Past → Shaping the Future?
Survey results of Rosenwald alumni and enthusiasts revealed a desire to learn more about the Rosenwald School program history. Of equal interest was an appeal for more information and tools for rehabilitating Rosenwald Schools, as well as, gain knowledge to communicate the Rosenwald School story to younger generations. That is how Sharing the Past → Shaping the Future originated–from you.
The 2015 National Rosenwald Schools Conference takes place June 17-20, 2015, in Durham, NC.
Here is a snapshot of what the Rosenwald history devotee can expect. Sessions led by representatives of the Washington and Rosenwald families, new Rosenwald revelations related to migration, health, library services, and Rosenwald schools on plantations. You can also take a closer look at Jeanes teachers, the South’s Equalization Schools and North Carolina’s own N.C. Newbold, who helped shape the Rosenwald School program in that state.
Are you starting, in the middle of, or have you completed a Rosenwald school rehabilitation? Get the know-how to move forward where ever you are in a project by attending sessions such as: Restoring your Rosenwald School; A Road Map to Success, Understanding your Buildings Needs, Practical Care and Maintenance of your Rosenwald School, Basic Window Repair and Successful Rehabilitation Strategies.

Conference Registration
Fees include admission to the welcoming and closing plenary sessions, welcoming reception, education & poster sessions, documentaries and discussions, and the Rosenwald Resource Room. Registration also includes a Rosenwald School conference commemorative T-shirt.
Early Bird: $275 until 5/31/2015
Onsite: $325 if space is available
STUDENT – $125 (full-time student with current student ID)
YOUTH – $80 (17 years old and under)
Special ticketed events include bus tours before, during and after the conference. The special ticketed events have a separate fee, limited space and are filled on a first come, first served basis.
